Gibbon Falls

Gibbon Falls is one of Yellowstone National Park's most accessible and underrated waterfall stops — an 84-foot cascade that is visible from the park road and requires minimal walking to view, making it one of the most family-friendly waterfall experiences in the entire park. For families with young children, strollers, or anyone who wants a dramatic waterfall without a demanding hike, Gibbon Falls delivers beautifully.

Located between the Madison and Norris junctions on the main park road loop, Gibbon Falls sits in a natural canyon carved by the Gibbon River as it drops off the edge of the Yellowstone caldera. The falls are wide and powerful, especially in late spring and early summer when snowmelt swells the river.
