L'Île de Robinson

L'Île de Robinson is an adventure and leisure park built on an island in the Seine at Le Plessis-Robinson, about 15 kilometers southwest of Paris. The park's defining feature is its natural setting — tall trees, river views, and genuine forest atmosphere — which gives activities a quality that indoor or urban parks cannot replicate. The tree-based adventure courses are the main draw, with circuits designed for different ability levels: a junior course suitable for children aged 5 to 8 with lower platforms and easier challenges, and more advanced routes with zip lines and suspension bridges for older children and tweens.

All participants are fitted with harnesses and given a brief safety briefing before starting, and courses are designed so that children can complete them independently while parents watch from the ground below. Beyond the adventure courses, the island has picnic meadows, a small animal area, pedal boat rental on the river, and a restaurant with terrace views. The natural environment provides a genuine sense of escaping the city, which both children and parents appreciate after several days of urban sightseeing.

The park is accessible by suburban train (RER B to Robinson station) making it reachable without a car. Weekend visits require advance booking for the adventure courses as capacity fills quickly. The combination of physical challenge, natural beauty, and river-side atmosphere makes it one of the better half-day excursions from central Paris.
