Children's Playground

Square d'Anvers-Jean-Claude Carrière sits in the 9th arrondissement just south of the Anvers metro station, a few minutes' walk from the base of Montmartre. The playground is part of the square, a small urban park that provides a genuine patch of green in a dense neighborhood.

The equipment is standard Paris municipal playground quality — well-maintained climbing structures, slides and swings. What makes it worth noting is the location: it's naturally on the route between the Anvers metro and Sacré-Coeur, so if you're doing Montmartre with kids, this is a logical stop. Let them run around before the climb up to the basilica, or use it as a post-sightseeing wind-down.

The surrounding 9th arrondissement has plenty going on for families — Place Pigalle, the Musée Grévin wax museum, good cafes and patisseries. The neighborhood has a lively, slightly bohemian feel.

Park hours are 8am to 8:30pm most days (9am opening on weekends). No facilities inside the square — nearest toilets would be at the Anvers metro station.
