Tyrolienne MTL Zipline

MTL Zipline in the Old Port of Montreal lets you fly over the historic waterfront on a dual zipline that spans about 370 meters. The ride launches from Hangar 16 and soars over the Clock Tower Basin, giving riders aerial views of Old Montreal, the St. Lawrence River, and the surrounding cityscape.

The experience is quick but intense. After a safety briefing and harness fitting, riders are clipped in and launched. The ride itself takes about 30-45 seconds, but the entire visit including waiting, briefing, and gearing up takes 30-60 minutes depending on the line.

There are minimum weight and age requirements, so this is strictly for older kids. Generally, riders need to be at least 8 years old and meet a minimum weight threshold (check the website for exact numbers since they can change). Kids who are nervous about heights may find it intimidating, but the dual-line setup means they can ride alongside a sibling or parent, which helps.

The zipline operates seasonally, typically from late spring through early fall, with limited weekend-only hours outside of peak summer. It's closed during rain and high winds for safety. Confirm availability before heading over.

The Old Port location means you have endless food and entertainment options before and after the ride. The Science Centre, La Grande Roue, and the waterfront promenade are all within walking distance. This makes the zipline an easy add-on to an Old Port day rather than a standalone trip.

Non-riders can watch from the ground for free, so you only pay for family members who actually zip.
