Père-Marquette`s Water Play

Pere-Marquette's Water Play area is one of the better splash pads in Montreal's Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie neighborhood. The jeux d'eau (water play) features ground-level jets that shoot up at random intervals, creating an interactive water playground that kids can run through without any standing water deep enough to worry about.

The splash pad operates seasonally, typically from mid-June through early September, weather permitting. It runs during set hours (usually 9 AM to 9 PM), and the water activates automatically. There's no button to push or fee to pay. Just show up and let the kids run in.

The surrounding area in Parc du Pere-Marquette has benches and some shaded spots under mature trees where parents can sit while watching. The park itself is large enough that you can combine the water play with time on the adjacent playground equipment, making it easy to fill an entire morning or afternoon.

There are no changing rooms or washrooms directly at the splash pad, which is the main downside for families with young children. The nearest public facilities are in the park's main building. Bring towels and a change of clothes in a bag so you can dry off before heading home.

The area around the park has solid food options on nearby Rue Beaubien, including family-friendly cafes and pizza spots within a 5-minute walk. On weekends in July, the splash pad draws big crowds, so arriving before 11 AM gives you more space and a calmer experience. This is one of the top free summer activities for families in eastern Montreal.
