Planète Claw

Planete Claw is an arcade-style venue on Rue Saint-Denis in Montreal's Plateau neighborhood dedicated entirely to claw machines. Dozens of claw machines line the space, each stocked with different prizes ranging from plush toys and candy to small electronics and quirky novelty items.

The concept is simple but irresistible for kids: insert tokens, maneuver the claw, and try to grab a prize. Some machines are easier than others, and part of the fun is figuring out which ones have the best grab angles. Older kids develop strategies — watching the claw's grip strength, timing the drop — while younger ones just enjoy the excitement of trying.

Planete Claw works well as a quick stop during a Plateau neighborhood walk, not an all-day destination. Most families spend 1-2 hours before the novelty (and the budget) wears thin. Set a spending limit with your kids before entering — the "one more try" loop is real and can get expensive fast.

The 4.6 Google rating reflects a fun, well-maintained space. The machines appear to be kept in good working order, which matters — broken claws and rigged machines are the death of claw arcade fun.

The Rue Saint-Denis location puts it in the middle of one of Montreal's best walking neighborhoods. Combine it with a stroll along the Plateau's colorful streets, a stop at a nearby cafe, or a visit to Parc La Fontaine a few blocks east. The venue is compact, so strollers fit but take up space.

Not every visit results in a prize, and that's part of the experience. Managing disappointment is actually a decent life lesson wrapped in a fun outing.
