Méga Parc

Mega Parc is a full-scale indoor amusement park inside Galeries de la Capitale mall in Quebec City. While technically outside Montreal, it's listed here because it's a popular family road trip destination for Montreal families, about 2.5 hours east on the 20.

The park fills 36,000 square feet of the mall's upper level with real amusement rides — not just play structures. There's a roller coaster, a Ferris wheel, bumper cars, a carousel, a climbing wall, and an ice skating rink. For younger kids, there's a dedicated section with gentler rides and play areas.

The mix of attractions means families with kids of different ages can all find something to do. Toddlers ride the carousel and mini-trains while tweens and teens hit the coaster and climbing wall. The ice rink operates year-round and skate rentals are available.

Admission works on a wristband system with different tiers covering different ride packages. Read the options carefully — the all-access wristband is usually the best value if you're staying for more than a couple of hours. Individual ride tokens are available but add up fast.

With a 4.3 Google rating, it's a well-regarded attraction. The fact that it's inside a mall means there are bathrooms, restaurants, and shopping on every level. The mall food court is cheaper than eating inside the park.

From Montreal, combine the trip with other Quebec City family stops — the Aquarium, Montmorency Falls, or Old Quebec — to justify the drive. It's not worth 2.5 hours each way for Mega Parc alone, but as part of a weekend trip, it's a highlight.
