McKiernan Rotisserie is a modern rotisserie restaurant that does one thing exceptionally well: roast chicken. The whole operation revolves around birds turning on spits, and the result is consistently juicy, crispy-skinned chicken served with comforting sides.

For families, rotisserie chicken is one of the safest bets in restaurant dining. Almost every kid eats it, and McKiernan's version is better than any chain rotisserie. The space is industrial-chic — high ceilings, exposed brick, hanging plants, and string lights that create a warm glow. Despite the trendy aesthetic, the atmosphere is casual. Kids are welcome and the noise level is high enough that family sounds disappear into the room.

The brioche donuts are the sleeper hit. Served warm and dusted with sugar, they're an irresistible dessert that kids (and adults) will fight over. Order them — you won't regret it.

Sandwiches are available for lunch and make a good option for kids who want something handheld. The chicken sandwich on a brioche bun is excellent. There's also a solid selection of natural wines and craft beer for parents.

Located on Boulevard Saint-Laurent near the Jean-Talon area, the restaurant has more space than many Montreal spots, which means strollers fit comfortably. It's a short walk from the De Castelnau metro or a quick drive from downtown. Weekend lunch is busy but turnover is quick since people don't linger for hours.
