MONITOR Lisbon

MONITOR Lisbon is a contemporary art gallery in the Campolide area, focused on emerging and established artists working in painting, sculpture, video, and installation. The 4.6 Google rating puts it among the better-regarded small galleries in the city.

For families, MONITOR is squarely aimed at tweens and teens who have an existing interest in contemporary art. The work shown tends to be conceptual and visually interesting — the type that generates conversation rather than requiring explanation. Younger kids typically find it less engaging.

The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday, afternoons only (1–7pm weekdays, 3–7pm Saturdays). Entry is free. The space is small enough that a 30-45 minute visit is plenty.

The Campolide/Rua da Páscoa area isn't heavily touristed, so getting here requires a short taxi or metro ride from central Lisbon. Worth planning as part of a broader afternoon in the western part of the city.
