Parque Norte

Parque Norte is one of the largest and most versatile family parks in Buenos Aires — a sprawling riverside complex that combines a serious water park with open green space, sports facilities, and picnic areas. For families visiting in summer (December through February), the water park section is a genuine highlight: multiple pools, water slides scaled for different ages, and a lazy river that even young kids can handle safely.

The park sits along the Río de la Plata, and the riverside setting gives the whole place a breezy, open feel that's rare in a city this dense. On a hot Buenos Aires summer day, this is exactly where local families go — which means it can get crowded on weekends, but the grounds are large enough that it rarely feels suffocating.

Beyond the pools, there's ample open lawn for running around, a playground section for younger kids, and sports courts that older tweens and teens tend to gravitate toward. The sheer size of the park means there's genuinely something for every age in the same group, which makes it one of the better options when you have kids with a significant age gap.

Bring your own food if possible — picnicking on the grounds is allowed and saves a meaningful amount over the park's food stalls. Lockers for your gear require cash, so keep that in mind. Parking is available but fills up fast on weekends; coming by public transport or taxi on busy days is worth considering.
