About
MOSAICCOS on Carrer dels Assaonadors in the El Born neighborhood offers mosaic workshops where participants create their own trencadís-style pieces using the traditional Catalan technique associated with Antoni Gaudí. The studio has a perfect Google rating — this is a genuinely excellent experience.
Trencadís (broken tile mosaic) is the technique Gaudí used throughout Parc Güell and Casa Batlló. Learning to make it yourself, in Barcelona, in a studio run by people who know the craft properly, is a completely different experience from just looking at it on a walking tour.
Kids enjoy the physical process — arranging tiles, deciding on colors, seeing their design come together. The result is a completed mosaic piece they made themselves, which travels home with them as a genuinely meaningful souvenir.
The El Born location is excellent — one of Barcelona's most characterful neighborhoods with great food nearby. Build extra time before or after the workshop to explore the area.

Why Kids Love It
MOSAICCOS offers hands-on mosaic workshops in El Born where kids make their own Gaudí-style trencadís piece to take home. Smashing tiles and rearranging colorful fragments is genuinely satisfying — kids feel like they're doing something real and creative, not just following instructions. The Gaudí connection makes it land differently in Barcelona than it would anywhere else.
