Suan Luang Rama IX

Suan Luang Rama IX is Bangkok's largest and arguably most beautiful public park, a sprawling 200-acre green oasis in eastern Bangkok dedicated to the memory of King Bhumibol Adulyadej. For families, it is one of the city's most valuable free resources: an enormous, beautifully maintained green space where children can run, cycle, explore botanical collections, and experience the kind of outdoor freedom that urban Bangkok rarely offers. The park's centerpiece is a series of large ornamental lakes featuring colorful fountains and paddle boat rentals — a universally popular activity with children who love nothing more than taking charge of a boat on open water.
