Viewlynn Park

Viewlynn Park sits on a hillside in North Vancouver and offers a solid neighborhood playground combined with open green space. The park covers a generous area with a modern playground structure that includes slides, climbing walls, and swings suitable for toddlers through elementary-age kids.

The playground surface is rubberized, which keeps it safer for falls and means it dries faster after rain. Surrounding the play area, you'll find flat grassy fields that work well for kicking a ball around or spreading out a picnic blanket. The park backs onto forested areas, giving it a more secluded feel than typical city parks.

For families with younger children, the toddler section of the playground has lower-height equipment and bucket swings. Older kids tend to gravitate toward the larger climbing structure and the taller slides. There's a good mix here so siblings of different ages can all stay entertained.

The park is open daily from 6 AM to 10 PM and stays relatively quiet on weekday mornings. Weekends see more traffic, especially during summer months when North Vancouver families use it as a go-to spot. Street parking along Viewlynn Drive is free and usually easy to find.

There are no washroom facilities directly at the park, so plan accordingly with young children. The nearest public restrooms are at the North Vancouver Recreation Centre about a five-minute drive away. Bring your own water bottles since there are no water fountains on site.

The park sits at a higher elevation, which means you get partial mountain views on clear days. In fall, the surrounding trees turn golden and the park becomes especially pleasant for a morning visit.
