Mount Pleasant Community Centre

Mount Pleasant Community Centre is a City of Vancouver facility at the corner of Kingsway and Main Street that serves as the recreational heart of the Mount Pleasant neighborhood. For families, it packs a surprising amount of activity into one location.

The outdoor pool is the summer highlight. It's not large, but it's affordable and lifeguarded, with dedicated family swim times. On hot days, the pool and surrounding deck are packed with neighborhood families. The adjacent wading pool is perfect for toddlers who aren't ready for the big pool.

Inside, the community centre has a gymnasium for drop-in sports, multipurpose rooms for classes, and a kitchen used for community programs. The City of Vancouver runs a full schedule of youth programming here — dance classes, art workshops, sports leagues, and preschool drop-in programs.

The outdoor space is equally strong. The park attached to the community centre has a well-maintained playground, open field space, and a popular skate park. It's a genuine neighborhood hub where kids ride bikes, play tag, and hang out after school.

For families with very young children, the toddler drop-in programs are a solid free option. These run on weekday mornings and give parents a chance to connect with other local families while kids play in a supervised setting.

The location at Main and Kingsway is well-served by transit. Street parking is available but can be tight during busy times. The surrounding neighborhood has excellent food options on Main Street, a short walk south.
