About

Creekside Community Recreation Centre is a modern City of Vancouver facility right on False Creek in the Olympic Village neighborhood. It's one of the newer rec centers in the city, and it shows — the building is clean, bright, and well-maintained with good family facilities. The main draw for families is the pool.

Creekside's aquatic facility has a lap pool and a smaller warm pool that works well for toddlers and non-swimmers. Family swim times are scheduled throughout the week. The pool area has family changing rooms with diaper-changing stations.

Beyond swimming, the centre has a gymnasium for drop-in sports, a fitness area, and multipurpose rooms that host everything from toddler play groups to youth dance classes. The City of Vancouver runs seasonal programming here — check the recreation guide for current offerings. Outside, the location is hard to beat.

The centre sits right on the False Creek seawall with views of Science World across the water. There's a playground adjacent to the building and the seawall path is perfect for stroller walks or bike rides. On warm days, the Habitat Island nature area next to the centre is a cool mini-exploration spot for kids.

Parking is available but limited and metered. The Olympic Village Canada Line station is a 5-minute walk, making transit the easier option. The neighbourhood has several restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance.

Creekside is a reliable, no-surprises family destination.
