About

Concord Community Park is a well-designed urban park on Pacific Boulevard near the north shore of False Creek, between BC Place and Science World. It's a popular stop for families exploring the False Creek seawall and one of the better modern playgrounds in downtown Vancouver. The playground is the centerpiece.

It features contemporary play equipment including climbing structures of varying difficulty, slides, swings, and a sand play area. The design accommodates a range of ages — toddlers have lower-level climbing options while bigger kids can tackle the more challenging structures. In summer, a small water spray area activates and becomes a magnet for little kids.

The park sits right on the seawall, which is a huge advantage. Kids can play on the equipment and then walk or scooter along the waterfront path. The views across False Creek to the Olympic Village and mountains beyond are excellent.

It's one of the more scenic playground settings in the city. The ground surface is rubberized for safety, and the playground is generally clean and well-maintained. There are benches throughout for parents to sit, and a few picnic tables for snacks.

There are no public washrooms directly in the park — the nearest facilities are at nearby businesses or community centres. Parking is available at nearby lots and meters. The Main Street-Science World SkyTrain station is about a 10-minute walk, and the stadium district lots are nearby for events.

The Concord Pacific area has some options. Tap & Barrel at the Olympic Village is a 10-minute walk with a family-friendly patio. The food trucks near Science World are a closer option in summer.

Why Kids Love It

Concord Community Park has a modern playground with climbing structures, slides, and swings right next to the False Creek seawall. Kids play on the equipment then run along the waterfront watching boats go by. The combination of playground and waterfront views keeps kids entertained longer than most parks. There's a water play area in summer that toddlers go crazy for.

Pro Tips from Parents

  • Combine with a walk along the False Creek seawall — Science World is 10 minutes east, Olympic Village is 10 minutes west
  • The water spray area runs in summer — bring a change of clothes for toddlers
  • No public washrooms in the park, so use facilities at nearby businesses or Creekside Community Centre before arriving

What to Bring

  • Sunscreen and hats — the playground has limited shade
  • A change of clothes if the water spray area is running
  • Snacks and water — no food vendors in the park itself
