Chaldecott Park

Chaldecott Park is a small neighborhood park on Wallace Street in Vancouver's Dunbar-Southlands area, serving mostly as a local playground for nearby families. It's compact, quiet, and best suited for younger children who need a place to burn off energy.

The playground has standard equipment including a climbing structure, slides, and swings, all appropriate for toddlers through about age 8. The park is surrounded by residential streets on all sides, which keeps it feeling safe and enclosed. Parents can easily keep eyes on kids from any of the benches around the perimeter.

There's not much to Chaldecott Park beyond the playground and a patch of green space, and that's kind of the point. It's not a destination you'd build a day around. It's the park you walk to when the kids need fresh air and something to climb on. If you're staying in the Dunbar area or visiting friends in the neighborhood, it's a convenient stop.

The Dunbar neighborhood itself is pleasant for walking, with the Dunbar Village commercial strip a few blocks away on Dunbar Street. You'll find coffee shops, a small grocery store, and a few casual restaurants there. The park has no restrooms, so plan accordingly with younger kids.
