Castle Royale

Castle Royale is an indoor playground in West Vancouver's Park Royal shopping centre, designed for children roughly ages 1 through 7. The castle theme runs throughout the space, with turrets, archways, and colorful medieval-inspired decor that little kids find delightful.

The play structures include slides, climbing frames, ball pits, and soft play areas sized appropriately for toddlers and preschoolers. There are separate sections for younger toddlers and slightly older kids, which helps prevent the bigger children from accidentally overwhelming the little ones.

The facility is clean and well-padded, which matters when toddlers are climbing and tumbling. Parents can sit in viewing areas around the perimeter while watching their kids play. Socks are required for all children in the play area.

Castle Royale is located inside a major shopping center, which means parking is free and plentiful, and there are food options throughout the mall if you need to grab lunch before or after. The playground itself doesn't serve food.

This is a straightforward indoor play space — there's nothing revolutionary about it, but it fills a real need for parents of young children in West Vancouver, especially on rainy days. The location inside Park Royal means you can combine it with shopping or a meal at the mall's restaurants.

The space can get loud and busy on weekend afternoons and during school breaks. For a calmer experience, aim for weekday mornings. Birthday party bookings can also take up space on weekends, so calling ahead to check availability isn't a bad idea.

The main limitation is the age range. Kids over 7 or 8 will find it too young for them, and it's definitely not a destination for tweens or teens. But for the under-7 crowd, it's a reliable, safe play option that burns energy on days when outdoor parks aren't feasible.
