About
MagiQuest is not like anything else on the Parkway, and that's exactly why kids remember it as the highlight of their Pigeon Forge trip rather than another ride or game room. The concept is simple but brilliant: your child gets a magic wand (a real physical wand with a sensor), and they use it to interact with hundreds of targets throughout a multi-story building — defeating dragons, unlocking treasure chests, casting spells, and completing quests. It's a live-action video game with a physical space.
The experience is self-directed, which is both its strength and its one challenge. Kids who are comfortable exploring on their own thrive here — they'll navigate between floors, read the quest clues, and build their story at their own pace. Kids who need a lot of external structure can get frustrated in the first 15 minutes before they understand the rhythm.
Parents should plan to be more hands-on with kids under 7 for the first quest or two.
The wand is the main upfront cost at $20-25, but it's reusable across future visits and even transfers to other MagiQuest locations around the country. If your family plans to visit again, it's worth it. Quest passes are separate and priced by session length — budget both when calculating your total.
This skews toward ages 5-12. Teens will find it charming but not gripping. The sweet spot is a child aged 7-11 who loves fantasy stories or gaming — those kids will be emotionally invested in defeating the dragon at the end and will recount the whole adventure at dinner. That's the MagiQuest magic.

Why Kids Love It
MagiQuest turns the entire building into a live-action role-playing adventure where kids wave their magic wands at interactive targets to cast spells, defeat dragons, and collect runes. It's not a ride you watch — your child IS the hero, walking through themed rooms solving puzzles and leveling up their character. Kids who are into fantasy books, video games, or imaginative play lose themselves completely in this experience.
What Parents Say
“Our little ones and the 9 year old did have a hard time doing the magic quest part, it was a bit difficult for them.”
From Reddit Parents
“What day? I’d live to bring my 11 year old. Same situation, only a few RSVPs to her birthday. Maybe they can be friends?”
Pro Tips from Parents
- Let kids lead the quests — parental hovering kills the magic of self-directed discovery
- Wands are the biggest cost but are reusable indefinitely at any MagiQuest location
- Younger kids (under 6) need a parent actively helping to understand the quest mechanics
- The Creature Battle stage combat add-on is worth the extra cost for ages 8+
- Download the app beforehand to understand the quest map so kids don't get frustrated navigating
What to Bring
- Comfortable walking shoes (lots of walking and stair climbing)
- Wand from previous visit if applicable
- Patience for learning curve on first visit
