Avatar Flight of Passage is consistently rated one of the best theme park rides in the world: a soaring, bank-and-dive experience on the back of a banshee that uses cutting-edge motion simulator technology. Expect the longest wait in the park (get here first thing) or use Lightning Lane access.

For families with young children, Animal Kingdom offers more than people expect. Na'vi River Journey has no height requirement and is genuinely beautiful — a gentle boat ride through glowing forests. The Maharajah Jungle Trek and Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail are self-guided animal viewing areas where kids can take their time with each habitat.

Festival of the Lion King is an outstanding live show that works for all ages and provides 30 minutes of shade and seating.

Practically: the park often opens at 8AM or earlier with Early Theme Park Entry for Disney hotel guests. Arrive early, head directly to Pandora. Use the My Disney Experience app to monitor wait times and book dining. The Florida afternoon rains usually hit Animal Kingdom between 2-4PM — plan indoor activities or a sit-down meal for that window.
