The Sanctuary

The Sanctuary at Baha Mar is a marine conservation and wildlife experience located within the Baha Mar resort complex on Cable Beach in Nassau. The facility houses marine life encounters where visitors can interact with nurse sharks, stingrays, and sea turtles in shallow, controlled environments designed for safe, close-up experiences.

For families, the main draw is the hands-on marine encounters. Kids can wade into shallow pools to touch stingrays, observe nurse sharks up close, and learn about sea turtle conservation from staff marine biologists. The interactions are supervised and educational without being lecture-heavy -- kids get to ask questions and participate at their own comfort level.

The facility has both indoor and outdoor areas and is generally stroller-accessible within the resort grounds. Being part of Baha Mar means you have access to resort restrooms and amenities, including nursing and changing facilities. The experience is smaller and more intimate than a major aquarium, which means less walking and a more focused visit.

Access for non-hotel guests may require purchasing a day pass or specific experience ticket through Baha Mar. Hotel guests typically have complimentary or priority access. The Baha Mar complex has multiple restaurants, from casual beachside grills to upscale dining, all within walking distance. Cable Beach is right outside for post-visit swimming.
