About

Nashville Shores sits right on Percy Priest Lake in Hermitage, about 20 minutes from downtown Nashville. It's not a mega-park like the ones in Orlando — it's more manageable, which honestly makes it better for families who don't want to spend the whole day stressed out navigating crowds.

The headliner for little kids is Kowabunga Beach. It's a massive splash zone with 70+ interactive water features, four mini slides, kiddie pools, and a giant dumping bucket that goes off every couple minutes. Toddlers and preschoolers can spend hours here without ever touching the rest of the park. There's a shallow wading area too, so even cautious 2-year-olds can get in on it.

For bigger kids and tweens, the 10 water slides are the draw. Riptide Racer is a 5-story mat slide where you race side-by-side — my kids wouldn't leave it alone. The wave pool is huge and actually generates real waves, not the sad ripple you get at some parks. The lazy river is long enough to feel like a break.

The floating aqua park on the lake is a separate attraction and it's legitimately fun for older kids and teens. It's 40+ inflatable obstacles — monkey bars, climbing walls, wiggle bridges, slides into the lake. There's a height and age requirement (usually 7+), so younger siblings might feel left out. Worth setting expectations ahead of time.

Pricing runs about $57/person at the gate for regular weekend admission, with kids 2 and under free. Parking is $18. For a family of four, you're looking at $230+ before food. Season passes at $69.99-$89.99 are a solid deal if you'll go twice — they include bring-a-friend tickets and park discounts.

The park opens the second Saturday in May and runs weekends-only until Memorial Day week, then daily through early August, then weekends again through mid-September. Weekdays in June are the sweet spot for short lines and open lounge chairs. Shade is limited, so sunscreen and water shoes aren't optional — that pavement will cook your feet by 1pm.

Plan Your Visit

Best Time to Visit

Weekdays in June before 11am — weekends get packed by noon, especially the wave pool and lazy river. Early season (late May) and late season (September weekends) are the least crowded.

Wait Times

10-15 min for big slides on weekdays, 25-40 min on summer weekends. Kowabunga Beach and lazy river rarely have waits.

Nearby Food

There's a full concession area inside the park with burgers, pizza, chicken tenders, and funnel cakes — expect to spend $12-$15 per person for lunch. If you want to eat before or after, there's a Cracker Barrel and a handful of fast-casual spots along Bell Rd within 5 minutes of the entrance.

Why Kids Love It

Kowabunga Beach has 70+ interactive water features, mini slides, and a giant dumping bucket that gets toddlers and little kids absolutely soaked every few minutes. Bigger kids lose their minds over Riptide Racer — it's a 5-story mat racing slide where they can race siblings head-to-head. The floating aqua park on Percy Priest Lake has 40+ inflatable obstacles including monkey bars and wiggle bridges, and it's the kind of thing tweens and teens won't stop talking about.

Pro Tips from Parents

  • Arrive right at opening — the wave pool and big slides have almost no line for the first hour.
  • Tubes are free and first-come-first-served, so grab them early. The lazy river and wave pool don't need them.
  • Bring water shoes — the pavement gets scorching hot by midday, especially around the slide towers.
  • The aqua park on the lake is separate and has a height/age requirement (typically 7+), so set expectations with younger kids beforehand.

What to Bring

  • reef-safe sunscreen (reapply every 90 min — there's limited shade)
  • water shoes for hot pavement
  • a waterproof phone pouch — you'll want photos on the aqua park
