About

Area 15 is a 200,000-square-foot immersive entertainment complex located 10 minutes west of the Strip that serves as an umbrella venue for multiple attractions, art installations, restaurants, and experiences. The complex itself is free to enter, and the main hall alone -- with its massive projection-mapped ceiling, glowing art installations, and futuristic retail shops -- provides 30-60 minutes of entertainment without spending a dime.

The anchor tenant is Omega Mart by Meow Wolf (detailed in its own listing), but Area 15 houses numerous other family-friendly experiences. Wink World ($20-25) is a series of infinity mirror rooms created by artist Chris Wink (co-founder of Blue Man Group). Each room uses mirrors, LED lights, and optical illusions to create the sensation of standing in infinite space.

Kids walk through rooms that look like endless galaxies, forests, and geometric patterns. It takes about 30 minutes and is excellent value.

Museum Fiasco ($10-15) is a quirky, irreverent art exhibit filled with meme-inspired installations, absurdist humor, and interactive photo opportunities. Teens and tweens who live on social media love it. Younger kids enjoy the visual spectacle even without getting the references.

The Haley's Comet indoor zip line sends riders soaring over the main floor of Area 15, providing a bird's-eye view of the complex. Height and weight restrictions apply. Numerous VR experiences rotate through the complex, ranging from flight simulators to zombie survival games.

For families, the main consideration is budget management. Area 15 can become very expensive very quickly if you do multiple paid attractions. A strategic approach: enter for free, explore the main hall, do one or two paid attractions that match your family's interests, eat, and leave.

Omega Mart alone can fill 2-4 hours and costs $39-59 per person, so combining it with multiple other paid attractions in the same visit can lead to sticker shock.

Timing matters. Daytime and early evening hours are family-oriented. After 8-9 PM on weekends, the complex transitions toward adult nightlife with bars, DJ events, and age-restricted experiences. Plan accordingly.

Free parking is available in a large lot adjacent to the building.

Plan Your Visit

Best Time to Visit

Weekend mornings (opens at 10 AM on weekends) are most family-friendly. Weekday afternoons work well. Avoid Friday and Saturday evenings after 8 PM when it becomes more of an adult nightlife venue.

Wait Times

Varies by attraction. Omega Mart can have 15-30 min entry waits on weekends. Museum Fiasco and Wink World usually have minimal waits. Haley's Comet zip line can back up on busy evenings.

Nearby Food

Multiple options inside Area 15: The Beast by Todd English (burgers, shareable plates), Oddwood (craft drinks and snacks), and food vendors throughout the complex. Emack & Bolio's ice cream is a family favorite. For more options, Chinatown (Spring Mountain Rd, 5 min drive) has dozens of excellent restaurants.

Why Kids Love It

The entire complex is designed to be Instagrammable and weird -- glowing art installations, a projector-mapped indoor space that changes themes, and a general vibe of 'anything could happen.' Wink World is a series of infinity mirror rooms that create the illusion of endless space. The Haley's Comet indoor zip line lets kids soar over the main floor.

Museum Fiasco is a quirky, meme-inspired art exhibit that teens find hilarious.

Pro Tips from Parents

  • Area 15 entry is free -- walk around and see the art installations before committing to any paid attractions
  • If budget allows only one paid attraction, Omega Mart is the must-do (but budget 2-3 hours for it alone)
  • Wink World ($20-25) is the best value paid experience -- infinity mirror rooms are stunning and take about 30 minutes
  • The main hall has a massive projection-mapped ceiling and walls that change themes -- it is worth seeing on its own
  • Visit during the day when the complex is family-oriented -- evenings (especially weekends) tilt toward adult entertainment

What to Bring
