About

Omega Mart by Meow Wolf is the most creatively ambitious family attraction in Las Vegas -- a 52,000-square-foot immersive art installation hidden inside the Area 15 complex that begins as a seemingly normal grocery store and descends into a surreal, multi-dimensional adventure. It is unlike anything else your kids have experienced.

The entry space is a meticulously designed fake supermarket. But every product on the shelves is wrong in unsettling, hilarious ways -- tattoo ink yogurt, ghost pepper baby food, cologne that smells like a parking lot. Kids who scan product barcodes with the Meow Wolf app receive cryptic messages that piece together a mystery narrative about a fictional corporation called Dramcorp.

Then you find the portals. Behind freezer doors, inside product displays, through hidden passages -- doorways lead into an ever-expanding series of fantastical environments. A bioluminescent cave pulsing with light.

A desert made of glowing neon crystals. A factory of impossible machines. An underwater grotto.

Each room is a fully realized, immersive environment that reacts to touch. Press glowing mushrooms and they play musical notes. Touch cave walls and colors ripple outward.

Step on floor panels and animations respond.

The space is non-linear -- there is no set path. Families explore freely, discovering hidden rooms, secret passages, and interactive elements. Kids who engage with the app-based mystery game have an extra layer of narrative driving their exploration, searching for clues and scanning objects to unlock story fragments.

Age guidance is important. Children under 6 may find Omega Mart overwhelming -- many rooms are intentionally dark, some have loud sounds or sudden sensory shifts, and the disorienting design that delights older kids can frighten younger ones. Ages 6-8 with adventurous temperaments do well.

Ages 8 and up generally love it universally. Teens find it genuinely cool, which is rare for a family attraction.

Strollers cannot navigate the space due to stairs, narrow passages, and crawl spaces. It is not wheelchair-accessible throughout (some rooms are, some are not). The experience takes 2-4 hours depending on how thoroughly you explore -- rushing through in under 2 hours misses most of what makes it special.

Practical note: Omega Mart is located inside Area 15, a separate entertainment complex off the Strip (10-minute drive or taxi ride from most Strip hotels). Area 15 itself has other attractions, bars, and food options. Parking is free.

Plan Your Visit

Best Time to Visit

Weekday mornings (10 AM opening) are least crowded. Avoid Friday and Saturday evenings when it becomes more of an adult nightlife scene. School holiday weeks are packed. Tuesday and Wednesday are the quietest days.

Wait Times

Can be 15-30 minutes to enter on busy weekends. Inside, no wait times -- you explore at your own pace. Some interactive elements have brief queues.

Nearby Food

Area 15 complex has several food options including The Beast by Todd English (upscale burgers and craft drinks), Wally's Wine & Spirits (fancy bites), and food trucks in the outdoor area. Lost Spirits Distillery offers tastings for adults. Nearby Spring Mountain Road (Chinatown, 5 min drive) has dozens of excellent restaurants.

Why Kids Love It

It starts as a fake grocery store and then reality breaks apart -- you walk through a freezer door and suddenly you are in a glowing alien desert, a bioluminescent cave, or a house turned upside down. Kids become detectives following clues on their phones to solve a mystery. Every surface is interactive -- touch walls, squeeze products, open unexpected doors.

It is like stepping into a video game.

Pro Tips from Parents

  • Download the Meow Wolf app before arriving -- it turns the experience into an interactive mystery with clues to find throughout the space
  • Start at the grocery store level and take your time -- scan barcodes on products, look behind shelves, and open every door you see
  • The space is not stroller-accessible due to stairs, narrow passages, and crawl spaces -- leave strollers in the car
  • Some areas are intentionally dark and disorienting with loud sounds -- sensitive kids may find it overwhelming. Preview YouTube videos first
  • Budget 3 hours minimum to explore thoroughly -- rushing through misses most of the hidden rooms and interactive elements
