Branson Landing

Branson Landing is a waterfront shopping, dining, and entertainment complex along Lake Taneycomo in downtown Branson. While it functions as a shopping center, the free fountain show, lakeside boardwalk, and waterfront setting make it a legitimate family attraction.

The $7. 5 million fountain show is the centerpiece. Choreographed to music, the fountain system shoots water jets up to 120 feet in the air while synchronized fire cannons blast flames from platforms along the waterfront.

The combination of water and fire -- especially after dark when the flames and illuminated water create dramatic contrast -- is genuinely spectacular. Shows run every hour from noon to 10 PM. The evening shows are significantly more dramatic than daytime.

The boardwalk along Lake Taneycomo extends from the Landing, providing a scenic, free walking path along the lakefront. Lake Taneycomo is a cold-water lake (fed by the bottom release from Table Rock Dam), and the clear, cool water is popular for trout fishing right from the shore. Kids enjoy watching ducks, fish, and occasional blue herons from the boardwalk.

Shopping options range from national brands to Branson-specific shops. For kids, candy stores and toy shops provide browsing entertainment. Bass Pro Shop at the edge of the Landing area is worth exploring -- the massive outdoor retailer has indoor aquariums, wildlife displays, and a general atmosphere of outdoors-enthusiast wonder.

Dining options span casual to sit-down: Cantina Laredo for upscale Mexican, Joe's Crab Shack for family seafood, White River Fish House for lakefront dining, and Andy's Frozen Custard for Missouri's favorite frozen dessert.

Branson Landing connects to downtown Branson's historic district and the Branson Scenic Railway depot, making it a walkable anchor for a downtown day that can include train rides, fountain shows, lakeside walks, and dining.
