Florida afternoon thunderstorms aren't optional. They're scheduled. If you're spending a week in Destin in July or August, plan for rain every day between roughly 3–5PM. A few of these days will last longer. Here's where to go.

If the Rain Lasts All Day
Two spots can absorb a full rainy day without exhausting their welcome:
Urban Air — Rock climbing, high ropes, dodgeball, foam pits, a dedicated toddler zone. Mixed-age families do well here because there's genuinely something at every level.
Surge Adventure Park — Open until 10PM on Friday and Saturday. If it's a summer Saturday and it's been raining since noon, Surge is your move.
Rainy Day by Age
Under 7: Cafe & Play (best option by far)
Ages 7–10: Destin Laser Tag and Blacklight Mini-Golf or Emerald Coast Science Center
Ages 10+: The VReality/VR Adventure Zone or Blast Arcade and Laser Maze
Mixed ages: Urban Air (dedicated toddler zone + high ropes for older kids)
