About
ICON Park is a vibrant open-air entertainment complex on International Drive anchored by The Wheel, a 400-foot observation wheel that has become one of Orlando's most recognizable landmarks. Unlike the major theme parks that require full-day commitments and advance planning, ICON Park operates as a casual, walkable entertainment district where families can mix and match activities at their own pace.
The Wheel is the centerpiece attraction. Standing 400 feet tall with 30 climate-controlled capsules, it offers 18-20 minute rotations with 360-degree views of Central Florida. On clear days, you can see all the way to Cape Canaveral.
The real magic happens at sunset and after dark — the views of Orlando's skyline, the illuminated theme parks in the distance, and The Wheel's own LED light show are stunning. Each capsule holds up to 15 people, has bench seating, and is wheelchair and stroller accessible.
Beyond The Wheel, ICON Park houses several family attractions under one roof. SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium features a 360-degree ocean tunnel and touch pools. Madame Tussauds Wax Museum lets kids pose with incredibly realistic figures of their favorite celebrities, athletes, and movie characters — the Marvel and Star Wars sections are especially popular.
The Museum of Illusions offers mind-bending rooms and optical illusions that produce amazing photos.
For younger children, the complex has a free outdoor splash pad near the restaurant row that provides welcome relief on hot Florida days. Bring a change of clothes and let toddlers splash while parents enjoy a drink at a nearby patio restaurant. A small playground area also provides free entertainment.
The dining options at ICON Park are above average for a tourist complex. Shake Shack offers reliable burgers and shakes. Tin Roof has live music and Southern comfort food. Uncle Julio's serves Tex-Mex with a solid kids' menu. Having everything — parking, dining, and attractions — in one walkable complex eliminates the car-shuffling that plagues many Orlando itineraries.
ICON Park works best as a half-day or evening activity. A popular approach is to arrive around 4-5 PM, do SEA LIFE and/or Madame Tussauds first, have an early dinner at one of the restaurants, and then ride The Wheel at sunset. The complex stays open late (until 10-11 PM on weekends), making it one of the few family-friendly evening entertainment options in Orlando outside the theme parks.
The free parking garage and free admission to the complex mean you can show up, walk around, and decide what looks fun without any upfront financial commitment — a rarity in tourist-heavy Orlando.

Why Kids Love It
The Wheel at ICON Park is a 400-foot observation wheel — one of the tallest in the world — with climate-controlled capsules that give panoramic views of Orlando and beyond. Kids love spotting Disney's fireworks from the top on clear evenings. The complex also houses SEA LIFE Aquarium, Madame Tussauds (where kids pose with lifelike celebrity wax figures), Museum of Illusions, and a free splash pad area.
The open-air dining and entertainment strip has a festive carnival-like atmosphere that kids of all ages enjoy.
