Moab Giants Dinosaur Park

Moab Giants is a dinosaur-themed attraction that connects the region's deep paleontological history with kid-friendly exhibits and experiences. The centerpiece is a half-mile outdoor trail through the red rock desert with over 100 life-size dinosaur replicas placed in the same landscape these creatures actually inhabited during the Mesozoic Era.

The outdoor trail is what sets Moab Giants apart from typical dinosaur museums. Walking among full-scale Allosaurus, Diplodocus, and Utah Raptor models in the actual desert -- with red rock formations and the Moab skyline as backdrop -- creates a sense of place that indoor museums cannot match. Information panels at each display explain the species, when it lived, and its connection to the local geology.

The indoor museum contains real fossils from the Moab region, interactive paleontology exhibits, and displays explaining how the area's famous trackways (dinosaur footprints preserved in rock) were formed and discovered. Kids can touch some fossils and participate in hands-on activities. The 3D Paleo-Aquarium theater shows marine reptiles of the ancient seas that once covered this region.

Moab Giants sits on State Route 313, the road to Canyonlands Island in the Sky and Dead Horse Point State Park. This makes it a natural stop on the way to or from those destinations. The location also means it is removed from Moab's main strip, with desert surroundings that reinforce the prehistoric theme.

The attraction is best suited for families with kids ages 3-12. Dinosaur-obsessed preschoolers and elementary-age kids get the most out of the experience. Teenagers may find it less engaging. The indoor sections provide valuable air-conditioned space during Moab's hot summers (regularly exceeding 100°F), making it a practical heat-escape option.
